Create and edit a contact group (mail list)

You can create a contact group to store a list of people you want to send email to. Use this group to send messages to multiple contacts without having to enter each contact separately in the message.


What do you want to do?






Create a contact group
        1.      On the Navigation bar, click People.

2.      If you are managing a Generic Inbox (your schools) choose that profile before creating the New Contact Group.

        3.      Click Home > New Contact Group.

        4.      On the Contact Group tab, in the Name box, type a name for the group.
5.      Click Add Members, and then add people from your address book or contacts list. To add someone who is not in your address book or contacts, use the "New E-mail Contact" selection.

 6.     Click Save and Close.


Edit a contact group

        1.      On the Navigation bar, click People.
2.      Find the group you want to edit and double-click the group to open it.

  •                 To Add Members
  •                 Click Add Members, and then add people from your address book or contacts list. To add someone who is not in your address book or contacts, use the "New E-mail Contact" selection.
  •                 To Remove Members
  •                 Select the member to remove from the list and click Remove Member, and then add people from your address book or contacts list.
3.      Click Save and Close.


Delete a contact group
Once the group is deleted, it cannot be restored.

1.      On the Navigation bar, click People.
2.      Find the group you want to delete and double-click the group to open it.
3.      Click Delete Group.

Modify a contact in a group
There are times when you want to modify the name or email address of a contact that you have included in a group. Contact exists within your personal Outlook contacts

1.      On the Navigation Bar, click People.
2.      In the ribbon, in Current View, click Business Contact.

3.      Within the contact listing, double-click on the contact you want to update. The edit contact window will be displayed.
4.      Make the desired modifications and click Save & Close from within "Actions" group.

5.      Find the group which contains the contact you just modified and double-click the group to open it.
6.      Within the "Members" area, click Update Now. The modified contact will be updated within the group.

7.      Click Save and Close to save your changes.
