Office 365 (Outlook 2016 for Windows) - Global Distribution Lists

A message sent to a distribution list, goes to all recipients' inboxes that are included in the list.
Note: Global distribution lists are visible to all staff and students.

A new naming convention has been developed for O365 resources to make them easier to find. For example, all Distribution Lists | Groups | Shared Inboxes, are prefixed with a 5-character location code (View list). New resources will automatically have this naming convention added.





Add / Remove Members of the Distribution List
  • Click the Address Book button. The button is located in the Find group on the far-right of any Home ribbon.

  • In the Address Book, click on the (1) drop-down list, menu and select (2) All Distribution Lists. (3) Enter your five-letter school or department code to view your list.

  • (1) Right-click on the list and choose (2) Properties. Only Owners can Modify Members...

Email a Distribution List

  • Create a new mail and enter the name of the distribution list.

View the Distribution Lists
  • Click the Address Book button. The button is located in the Find group on the far-right of any Home ribbon.

Create your own private New Contact Group List. For example, a parent list!
The personal Contact Group Lists that you create in your Poeple folder are available only to you, but you can share them by sending them to others.
